System integration of SAP and renew loyalty programs.

The proposed solution:

SAP implementation was key to have a unified ERP system with invoicing, logistics, warehousing in one, that helps online grow as well. There was a change request for an existing loyalty program at the same time. This aimed at simplifying a complex system for buyers, involving a new system. This involved scrapping a multitude of different discount programs (customer cards, VIP card system, special discounts, student cards, culture cards, workers cards) integrating it into a single solution.

THE WORKFLOW:

  • Explore business needs of the client and add value by creating new requirements for the online screens.
  • Design the admin interface that shows all required details.
  • Public profile needs to be created (so it becomes visible for client)
  • Prepare for online communication of the loyalty scheme changes.

Key takeaway:

SAP integration helped the management to get a clear picture of how strong online performance is compared to other areas of the business, helped them to make more informed decisions. The loyalty program’s business logic needed further exploration by the team, to refine the business value for the client and its customers alike. (e.g. due to special promotions, we had to create exceptions where the special pricing could not be applied to bundle sales, etc.) The project was a success for both Libri as well as their customers.
